2008 First Pioneer Farm Credit Director Election Results

The Tellers Committee, comprised of First Pioneer members, counted the ballots on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 and the four incumbents running won their respective races:

  • John Lyman, III, a 9-year Board veteran from the Eastern Region (Enfield Branch) , was reelected to a 3-year term.

  • Lyle Wells, a 9-year Board veteran from the Southern Region (Riverhead Branch), was reelected to a 3-year term.

  • John Dickinson, a 9-year Board veteran from the Western Region (Greenwich Branch), was reelected to a 3-year term.

  • Andy Gilbert, a 3-year Board veteran from the Western Region (Potsdam Branch), was reelected to a 2-year term.

It's a lot of work and dedication to run for election, regardless of whether one succeeds or not in the final tally. It's probably especially difficult when the organization is doing well and there is little voter rationale for favoring a challengers over a proven incumbent. Nonetheless, competitive elections are a bedrock cooperative principle necessary for staying strong. That is why all of us appreciate what these candidates have done for First Pioneer.
